The Hermit's Glossolalia
The Hermit’s Glossolalia, often just called “the hermit’s book” for brevity, is a divine text written by the disputed Ascendant known only as The Hermit. The text itself is written in a nonsense language, and filled with images of impossible plants, creatures, and structures. The Mendicant Order of The Hermit regards the nonsense text as a divine scripture, believing that the seemingly unstructured nature of it is meant to force reflection unto a reader, making one place meaning into the text rather than try and divulge one from it. This philosophy is the basis of much of the Hermit’s follower’s beliefs.
The Hermit’s Glossolalia is kept in the library of the Baron of Fairdale, making the barony a site of pilgrimage for many years. Unlike most pilgrims, followers of the Hermit do not tend to spend as much money as those from other order, much to the chagrin of the locals of Fairdale.
